EDGE, a statewide nonprofit organization, stands committed to building a more prosperous California by uniting diverse sectors such as business, labor, social justice, education, and workforce organizations. Our collective goal is to ensure that all individuals have the opportunity to access post-secondary education and training, thereby unlocking the doorway to economic mobility for themselves and their communities.
Since our inception in 2006, EDGE has tirelessly worked to bridge gaps and reform educational and training systems to meet the evolving demands of the labor market. Our focus is clear: to remove barriers and provide the necessary resources for all Californians to attain the skills needed for success in today’s job market.
However, our work is far from complete. While we have seen progress, there is still much to be done. Despite California’s historical commitment to higher education, too many students are unable to complete their degrees, certificates, or transfer programs. Additionally, many working adults lack access to skill development opportunities, hindering their chances of upward mobility.
