Sebastien Chaubard

California EDGE Coalition

Sebastien is a Program Manager with the CA EDGE Coalition. He is responsible for timely completion of contract deliverables, reporting, and producing awareness events focused on closing California’s education and workforce skills gap to achieve greater equity, a broadly shared prosperity, and economic mobility for all Californians.

Sebastien has spent the last six years of his career working to alleviate the burdens of poverty by expanding access to public assistance programs in underserved communities. At the non-profit organization Golden State Opportunity, he managed statewide and regional projects to raise awareness of, and increase participation in, the California Earned Income Tax Credit. During this time, he also successfully advocated to expand eligibility of the credit to previously excluded populations such as self-employed, senior, young-adult, and ITIN workers.
In early 2020, Sebastien was elected to serve as Policy Director for a local member-run organization focuses on pushing for social justice and organizing young advocates. While Chair of the Policy Committee, he analyzed legislation and led discussions on local, state, and federal policy to set priorities and take positions.

Since graduating from Sacramento State University, Sebastien has developed his roots in the Sacramento area and focuses his experience and expertise on advocacy.

Aside from being active in his community, Sebastien enjoys the outdoors, listening to podcasts, and trying out local restaurants.
