California EDGE Coalition has released a new fact sheet highlighting how recent federal policy shifts could affect California’s health care system and workforce—and what state leaders and partners can do in response. Titled “Federal Policy Shifts—Impacts on California’s Health Care System and Workforce,” the publication identifies the most consequential changes emerging from federal policy debates and outlines steps California can take to mitigate harm to workers, students, and the programs that support them. The resource is designed to help policymakers, labor partners, and community-based organizations quickly understand the stakes and respond with coordinated action.
The fact sheet comes at a time of growing uncertainty around federal funding for health care and safety net programs that many Californians rely on while pursuing education, training, and employment opportunities. Potential reductions to programs such as Medicaid and other federal supports could undermine workforce development efforts and make it harder for students and workers to access the services that enable them to complete training and advance in their careers.
By breaking down complex federal policy changes into clear insights and recommended actions, the publication aims to equip advocates, legislators, and community partners with the information they need to protect access to health care, sustain workforce pathways, and safeguard economic mobility for Californians across the state.
